Edufeed Blog is for educators for the Monthly updates on policies, laws, and social impact on education K-16
"…I do the reading, so you can do the thinking…"
Hello Friends and Colleagues,
Welcome to my inaugural post on this blog website. It is designed with you in mind to reduce the burden of searching for current education-related events across public, private, charter, faith-based, and homeschool settings.
This site is bias-free. You will find topics that lean left, right, center, and even outlier points of view. As I read through many scholarly journals, respected newspapers, websites, and YouTube offerings, I look for the unique issues that affect policies, laws, best practices, and headlines, and that directly address the shifts in education here in the USA and around the world.
I look forward to your feedback and the comments you care to share. I am interested in learning what you want to hear about as we navigate these dramatic changes in education.
The layout is concise and user-friendly. I will provide a summary of the analysis of the link and discuss why you may find it meaningful. A link will take you to the source. It may be the Wall Street Journal, The Journal for Exceptional Children, The Supreme Court website, The White House, and YouTube. I follow many streams of information and look forward to any contributions you may care to share with this page.
So, let us begin our first blog post with the following links!

Special Education News
Headlines about the Trump Administration leadership, specifically Linda McMahon, indicate that significant changes to responsibilities may impact services for students with 504 Plans, as the Department of Justice will take over Civil Rights enforcement in schools. It is noteworthy that learning disabilities and health impairments are part of the qualifying measures for receiving special education services through Individual Educational Plans (IEP).

Unseparating Church and State?
Texas, are schools adding Bible study to public schools?
Texas is a majority Republican state which 67% of all citizens believe in some sect of Christianity. Certain bible stories, such as Adam and Eve, the Eight Beatitudes, and the Parable of the Prodigal Son, will be required instead of world cultures courses in the sixth grade. The majority-Republican State Board of Education granted preliminary approval, and after hearing 500 people’s objections and praise, it was moved to the education board for a vote on Friday. If passed, it would take effect during the 2030-31 school year.
